Ariel Levi (Team GP Elite) and Philippe Wils (Proton Huber Competition) head to the Atlantic Coast as championship leaders
Saturday, 8 February will be a full day of racing action, live on TV!
Zonhoven, 6 February 2025 – Nearly 40 years ago, on 21 April 1985, Brazilian motorsport legend Ayrton Senna secured his first-ever Formula 1 Grand Prix victory at the Portuguese Estoril circuit. This historic venue remains deeply embedded in the hearts of racing fans, making it a fitting location for the second round of the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe season. Ariel Levi (Team GP Elite) and Philippe Wils (Proton Huber Competition) will arrive on Portugal’s Atlantic coast leading the Sport and Club Divisions, respectively, as they prepare for two intense 30-minute sprint races following extensive track time, as per tradition.

Now in its third season in 2025, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe continues to establish itself as a premier winter racing series. The championship features both a Sport and a Club Division, providing professional drivers and young talents in the Sport Division with the perfect preparation for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and various Carrera Cups worldwide. Meanwhile, in the Club Division, competitive racing entrepreneurs can battle for victory under ideal winter conditions. Each competitor will have the opportunity to put their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – or Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport through nearly ten hours of track time, culminating in two highly competitive sprint races.
“Our series benefits from an experienced and professional organization, offering top-tier hospitality and extensive global TV coverage,” said Series Manager Lars Plato.
In Estoril, teams and drivers will meet for the second round of the season, contesting the third and fourth races of 2025. The opening races in Portimão, in southern Portugal, showcased an even higher level of competition this year, a major advantage for participants looking to fine-tune their skills ahead of the main racing season.

High-level racing anticipated
After the season opener in Portimão, reigning champion Ariel Levi leads the Sport Division standings. The Team GP Elite driver claimed one victory, as did Flynt Schuring (Schumacher CLRT), and currently holds 45 points to Schuring’s 41. A fierce battle is brewing behind them, with Sacha Norden (Proton Huber Competition) sitting on 26 points, followed by Dirk Schouten (Laptime Performance) and Chester Kieffer (Schumacher CLRT) tied at 24 points. Kieffer, an impressive rookie in Portimão, secured pole position in his debut weekend and currently leads the Rookie standings, further highlighting the championship’s role as a proving ground for emerging talent. In the PRO-AM category, Henri Tuomaala (Koiranen) tops the leaderboard following the first round.
In the Club Division, Philippe Wils leads the championship after securing one victory in Portimão, matching the performance of Evgenii Leonox (Volcano).

All the action unfolds on Saturday, 8 February, featuring free practice, qualifying, and both races, all of which will be broadcast live across the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe’s media platforms.
