  • A strong international field and outstanding sporting competition conclude the 2026 season in style

  • The next winter edition starts from January 22nd to 24th, 2027, in Portimão

Barcelona, March 3rd, 2026. The season has come to an end, and the final winners and champions of the 2026 Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe season have been decided. Milan Marczak (RedAnt Racing) and Joel Monegro can call themselves champions for a year in the Sport Division and Club Division, respectively.

A strong starting field, intense races and beaming faces on the podium: these were the ingredients of the season finale in Barcelona last weekend.

“That’s right,” said a visibly satisfied Series Manager Lars Plato after the 2026 season. “I’m pleased with the strongest starting grid of the season, but also with a very international field of competitors, featuring drivers from across Europe as well as North and South America. We also have great news: the winter series will return in 2027, with the new season kicking off from January 22nd to 24th in Portimão. Many drivers and teams have already confirmed their intention to return.”

Exciting battles in the Sport Division

There was plenty to discuss on the sporting front in Barcelona, as Milan Marczak missed out on pole position in the Sport Division for the first time this season. Matheus Ferreira (Team GP Elite) was fastest in qualifying, ahead of Gian Luca Tüccaroglu (Team 75 Motorsport) and Marczak.

Qualifying, however, is one thing. Sprint racing is another. Two action-packed races followed in the Sport Division, delivering battles throughout the field.

Young Brazilian Matheus Ferreira handled the pressure from both Tüccaroglu and Marczak perfectly to claim his first victory of the season. Tüccaroglu finished third, ahead of Marczak. Frank Porté Ruiz (Hadeca Racing) and Sebastian Freymuth (Laptime-Performance) completed the top five.

American Henry Wheeler was the top Rookie, while Sebastian Schmitt secured best PRO-AM honors, both competing in the a-workx by KATANA Tools colors.

Matheus Ferreira doubles up

Ferreira capped off a stellar weekend by taking another victory in the final race of the season, finishing ahead of newly crowned champion Milan Marczak and Alex Reimann (EST1 Racing). Sebastian Freymuth crossed the line in fourth, with Nick Ho (Team GP Elite) rounding out the top five. Teammates Henry Wheeler and Sebastian Schmitt were once again the best Rookie and PRO-AM drivers, respectively.

In the final standings, the title went to Milan Marczak, with Wouter Boerekamps (Team GP Elite) and Tio Ellinas (EST1 Racing) securing silver and bronze.

RedAnt Racing celebrated further success beyond the overall championship. The Rookie title was claimed by Jesse Polderdijk, who finished second twice in the Rookie class in Barcelona. Sebastian Schmitt emerged as the best PRO-AM driver of the season.

Intense battle in the Club Division

Pole position for Javier Ripoll Jr. (EST1 Racing) in Club Division qualifying set the stage for a fiercely contested weekend. As in the Sport Division, the races were highly competitive, featuring close battles and minimal incidents.

Victory in the opening race went to newcomer Olivier Bertels (Belgium Racing), who narrowly defeated Dean Burden (Eden Motorsport) and Bert De Heus (ID Racing). Ihsan Levent Türkmen (MDM Motorsport) and pole-sitter Javier Ripoll Jr. completed the top five. Daniel Lewis claimed victory in the GT4 class with his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, run by Race Car Consultants Ltd.

Ripoll Jr. responded in race two, taking a well-earned victory ahead of Joel Monegro (Track Experience by Manthey), who secured the Club Division title. Krister Andero (Mtech Competition) finished third. Hans Frisch (a-workx by KATANA Tools) and Marcus Graichen (Mühlner Motorsport) completed the top five, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of the Club Division. Daniel Lewis once again dominated the GT4 class and had already sealed the title prior to the weekend.

The final Club Division podium of the 2026 season saw champion Joel Monegro finish ahead of Javier Ripoll Jr. and Daniel Lewis.

See you in January 2027 for the next edition of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe.
